What we are looking for:

- Candidates with a high school diploma or equivalent are preferred, but not required. Prior experience not required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- This job is in a fast-paced environment and will require you to be physically active.
- Communicate and problem solve with coworkers.
- Stand and walk on concrete for long periods of time.
- Work in cold and/or hot temperatures throughout the day
- Perform basic math and obtain necessary production specifications.
- Pass on information to co-workers/relay information to and from all employee levels including management.
- Friendly and approachable individuals with excellent communication skills.
- Comfortable working across cultures and with teams across various groups and diversities.
- Fluent in English — Bi-lingual fluency in one of Spanish, Laotian, Vietnamese, Korean, etc. is desirable but not required.
- Work different ranges of hours such as overtime or weekend shifts (The hours for this position may change based on production schedule)
- Candidates receiving offers of employment will be required to complete a post-offer, pre-placement background check and drug screen.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome on-boarding employees and provide an overview of Schwan’s code of conduct and culture.
- Actively inform and guide employees in accessing and utilizing the various resources, programs, and initiatives offered by the company, with the aim of promoting their overall well-being and job satisfaction.
- Act as a liaison between management and hourly employees to ensure clear communication.
- Develop and build teams by fostering mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
- Provide training, encouragement, and motivation to prepare employees for their roles.
- Give coaching and corrective feedback as needed.
- Provide clear and concise instruction to individuals and groups on the importance of adhering to rules and expectations, including compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) conducts. Additionally, educate employees on the nature and consequences of noncompliance reports (NR), and guide them in taking the necessary actions to prevent such occurrences.
- Establish and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
- Meet frequently with new employees to guide them towards working independently and feeling supported in the team.
- Help guide new hires through culture-related discussions and provide additional context on company history and norms.
- Connect with employees who are stagnant in their role to engage in the step-up matrix to improve their knowledge or skills.
- The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required; including but not limited to bump cap, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, hair and beard nets, gloves and safety shoes or rubber boots.
- Completing all required paperwork (for example: downtime, HACCP, etc., utilizing SAP, SOPs, Safety operation, training, as appropriate)
- Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.
