Schwan’s Shared Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Schwan’s seeks a Senior Process Engineer at our facility in Florence, Kentucky – multiple positions available. Under general supervision, will be responsible for the investigation, development, improvement and testing of complex, new or modified food processing techniques. The position also supports department and corporation strategies in the areas of process development and engineering, test runs and specification development. Develop and commercialize new process technology and new processing equipment within Schwan's manufacturing and co-packer facilities. Interface with manufacturing and operations engineering departments to identify, educate and implement major cost savings projects or product improvements involving new processes, processing technology, and equipment. Work with Training department, Technology & Product Development, and Manufacturing to develop training program for Operation personnel in executing and operating new processes and processing equipment in the areas of operation, maintenance, and sanitation. Collaborate with other R&D groups, Manufacturing, and Engineering to develop process and equipment specifications for existing and new equipment or production lines including any improvement and/or changes. Work with technology and product development and manufacturing staff to develop process or equipment to reach attainment goals of new or existing production line. Develop, present, and communicate preliminary capital proposals of new processing technology, equipment, or cost reduction opportunities including determination of ROI and other benefits, process or equipment specifications, and estimated capital investment and production capacity and attainment. Document all work according to established procedures and guidelines and prepare various project reports to project personnel and project leader to ensure complete communication of project status, progress, issues, solutions, timeline, and accountability. Develop and implement project plan and schedule. Other duties as assigned. Must have proof of legal authority to work in the U.S. Requirements – Education: (A) Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical and Biochemical Engineering or closely related field; OR (B) Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical and Biochemical Engineering or closely related field. Experience: Candidates with a Master’s degree listed above are required to have (A) at least three years of experience in a Process Engineer, Process Engineering Intern, Senior Process Engineer, R&D Chemical Process Engineer, Senior Process Improvement and Quality Engineer or similar processing engineering role; (B) at least one year of experience in engineering, testing, commissioning, and maintaining process operations in the food or pharmaceutical industry OR at least one year of experience providing engineering project support for food and beverage packaging and processing facilities; and (C) at least one year of experience in writing preliminary capital proposals and commercializing new process technology and new processing equipment for manufacturing food OR at least one year of experience as a Project Engineer preparing bid packages for project equipment, components and installation on engineering projects for food and beverage companies. All experience can be gained concurrently in the same three-year period. Alternatively, candidates who have a Bachelor’s degree listed above are required to have at least six years of experience in (A) and one year in (B) and (C). All experience can be gained concurrently in the same six-year period. Work from home, one day a week, in the Cincinnati, OH-KY-IN area is permitted but not required.
