We are hiring a Safety & Compliance Specialist in our Gahanna, OH, location. In this role you are responsible, under limited supervision, to assist in the administration and implementation of moderate to complex safety compliance programs, policies and processes in an effort to achieve a workplace free of work related injuries, ensure regulatory compliance with applicable regulations, and prevent vehicle accidents.
- Assists in organizing and administering a comprehensive safety and compliance program.
- Assists in planning and administering training programs for regulatory compliance, accident and injury prevention, and other safety programs.
- Conducts detailed investigations into hours of service violations and appeals to ascertain nature of violation and employee culpability and, based thereon, develop action plans for remedial training, coaching, counseling, and/or disciplinary action.
- Conduct audits of both employees and depots relating to safety and compliance programs to ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures and, based thereon, prepare reports to management together with recommendations, including additional training, coaching, counseling, and/or disciplinary action.
- Conducts investigations and assessments of safety, claims, and accident data relating to employees and locations to determine risk profile and, based thereon, prepare reports to management together with recommendations for additional training, coaching, counseling, etc. all geared towards accident and injury prevention.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with field management to ensure compliance and safety goals are meet as well as business needs in a cost effective manner.
- Serves as a safety and compliance resource for all field management and responds to requests for information and assistance in furtherance of the company's safety and compliance program.
- Interprets policies, procedures, guidelines, legal and regulatory statues regarding safety and compliance inquiries and issues.
- Interfaces with Federal and state regulatory agencies for inspections, audits, and compliance issues relating to facility operations.
- Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years in an EHS or safety setting specific to manufacturing, production or CPG
- PC skills to include Microsoft Office Suite
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Numeric data analysis and investigative process and documentation skills
- Negotiation and presentation skills
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $47,250 to $78,750 annually with eligibility for a 5% annual incentive bonus that is based on organizational performance. The pay range represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to education, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
