The Senior Manager, Income Tax reports to the Vice President of Corporate Tax and leads the Company's income tax accounting, reporting, and compliance functions. You'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on CJ Schwan's tax operations by driving modernization, improving efficiency, and partnering across the organization to support strategic business initiatives. The ideal candidate combines deep tax expertise with strong leadership and project management capabilities, a passion for driving process improvement, automation, and operational excellence, and takes the initiative to design and implement those improvements.
What you will do:
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provisions processes, including ASC 740 reporting, deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances, tax account reconciliations, disclosures, and IFRS reporting to the Korean parent organization.
- Manage the design and review of tax-related internal controls and K-SOX requirements, and ensure compliance and documentation, facilitate testing, and conduct annual walkthroughs.
- Lead Federal income tax compliance, including the preparation, review, and filing consolidated federal tax returns and related disclosures and elections.
- Lead quarterly federal estimated tax calculations, payments, and account reconciliations.
- Partner with external tax advisors on return reviews, technical positions, R&D tax credit studies, and other compliance initiatives.
- Coordinate with non-consolidated subsidiaries on affiliated group calculations and reporting (CAMT, CbCR, R&D Credit, etc.).
- Monitor tax legislative and regulatory developments and assess impacts on the Company's tax position and reporting obligations.
- Support acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and legal entity transactions from a federal income tax perspective.
- Drive continuous improvement through tax process optimization, automation, and effective use of tax technology solutions, including OneSource.
- Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and IT to enhance tax data quality, reporting, and system integration.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members while building organizational capability and future leadership talent.
What we look for:
- 8+ years of progressive income tax experience, including leadership and management responsibilities; experience within a multinational corporation or national public accounting firm is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA and/or Masters of Business Taxation preferred.
- Strong expertise in ASC 740, federal tax compliance, and U.S. tax regulations.
- Experience with OneSource Income Tax, OneSource Tax Provision, and/or comparable corporate tax technology platforms.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Power Platform and/or other data-driven tax reporting tools is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead projects, improve processes, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
What We Offer:
The base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $200,000 annually, with eligibility for a 20% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance. The range reflects factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and starting salary may fall anywhere within the stated range.
