We are hiring a Sr Systems Engineer at our Marshall, MN corporate office. In this role, you will beresponsible for managing the planning, coordination, configuration, installation, and management of all IT infrastructures within the enterprise to meet business requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Designs IT infrastructure (ex. hardware, applications, servers, network) to ensure an efficient, stable, and high performing infrastructure environment that is available for all CJ Schwan’s business applications, locations, and platforms (ex. on premise, cloud, SaaS).
- Defines critical areas of analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning.
- Collaborates effectively with internal and external team members and partners.
- Monitors and analyzes problems that occur within the infrastructure, identifying and solving them as quickly and efficiently as possible, and is periodically responsible for 24 hour on call support.
- Researches the necessary tools and processes to identify and resolve problems.
- Analyzes trends and develops long range plans designed to resolve problems and prevent recurrence.
- Designs and leads IT projects intended to improve and upgrade the infrastructure, including automation of administrative and operational functions, and presents solutions to management in a clear and concise manner.
- Recommends changes for or leads the design and implementation of infrastructure standards and guidelines.
- Responsible for new installations and maintenance of existing infrastructure including racking, servers, switches, virtual infrastructure, etc.
- Supports other IT and business unit projects as needed.
- Develops and maintains internal control procedures (secure system builds, system documentation, information security standards, and best practices) across managed systems.
- Utilizes previously developed procedures for Infrastructure administration.
- Mentors and trains lower-level engineers where appropriate.
- Participates in Lean and Continuous Improvement events and complete tasks in implementation plan to achieve business process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Services (CIS) or related field, or equivalent education and/or experience
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
- Advanced understanding, experience, and expertise within the specific IT Infrastructure being supported such as network, storage, compute, virtual environments, applications (ex. SAP, HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, MS Server OS, Biztalk, SCCM), cloud services (ex. Azure) etc.
- General knowledge of network fundamentals, server-based Windows operating systems, Linux operating systems, database systems, data backup/restore techniques, network communications infrastructure, server-level troubleshooting techniques, scripting languages (ex. PowerShell, Python), and other IT infrastructure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively build and manage cross-functional relationships.
- Adept at working independently or in teams. Ambition to grow within the IT organization.
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $81,750 - $136,250 annually with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus, that is based on organizational performance. The pay range represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to educations, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
